Biliary dyskinesia: there is a good chance that removing your gallbladder will improve your symptoms. Also, it will prevent any future, more troublesome, problems with your gallbladder.

scheduled for gallbladder removal, surgeon not sure pain and nausea from gallbladder. ct and us normal. hida ef 11%. prior reflux surgery, endoscopy shows no reflux. pain right side, severe between shoulder blades with nausea. low fat diet helps?

: As "gall bladder pain" can be caused by many things not all of which are related to the gall bladder some who have their gall bladder taken out still have the same pain which, by definition, is not longer due to a gallbladder as there is none. Discuss with your reg Dr as well as the surgeon. Sometimes the only way to tell is to take it out. Many go home the same or next day.

my brother has a ureter stent placed and it's passed 24 hours and he's is still in sharp pain, nausea and discomfort? how long does it last till he feels normal with it

Ask/call the urologist: You want to ask the urologist who placed the stent for evaluation, your brother shouldn't be in such pain, good luck

i have a stent in lad artery. bp high recently.  chest pain &nausea the last couple of days.  do i wait for app't next month or go to clinic?

Emergency room: If chest pain is coming from blocked artery, the time to get attention is now, in order to limit damage to the heart.  

Many other things can cause pain, and if the first assessment says the heart is not in immediate danger, there is time to assess more possibilities.  Most worrisome symptoms often increase with exertion.

ruq pain worse in back and neck 30 min after eating and nausea. no gallbladder. ercp -stenosis -temp stent a year ago. still have this problem. ideas?

Keep seeing your MDs: Sounds like your surgeon, gastroenterologist and primary care physician are on top of this. It does seem like the stent may have migrated or clogged again.  They will likely need to do another ERCP.  Sounds like you are working with a good team.

i have very bad bile reflux and gastropathy, (seen on egd) seen multiple mds. have been taking omeprazole. nothing else helps. burning and nausea. helped for a while but need to increase dose. is it okay to take when on plavix ? on plavix for a stent?

: GERD &amp; bile reflux can coexist. Bile reflux is much more difficult to treat&amp; perhaps.the omeprazole is controlling GERD in your case. Some feel that it can actually increase the degree of bile reflux. It is reported that omeprazole reduces the effect of plavix &amp; the combination is not recommended so it's not a good idea for you to increase the dose. I'm sure you're trying all the lifestyle changes

what could cause ongoing nausea and acid reflux for 6 months?

Worth an evaluation!: Gerd is common--present in about 70 million americans. As such, there are easy solutions if you have just symptoms. If however you have inflammation due to gerd, this can be progressive & needs to be controlled. Start with behavior & diet changes (see prior healthtap answers), add acid-blocker medications (either h2-blockers or ppi's). Get evaluated, especially if atypical, chronic &/or worsening.

does acid reflux in children cause nausea early in the day on a daily basis?

Possibly: Since they've been lying down all night, acid may may be slowly crawling up the esophagus. Also acid secretion tends to to peak at night. So early am nausea could be a sign of acid reflux.  But as with all health concerns, if it persists, see the pediatrician.

just came in from shoveling for an hour and having bad headtburn/reflux w/some nausea and it won't go away. can shoveling snow trigger acid reflux?

It's possible: With increased abdominal pressure through exertion associated  with shoveling. Take antacid and/or ppi- omeprazole. Take care!

Yes: Gerd or "reflux" is the result of the upper gastoesophageal sphincter being unable to close appropriately.  Therefore, the gastric contents, which are acidic, reflux into the lower esophagus, causing: burning, burping, hoarseness, epigastric pain and of course nausea.
