See a,doctor: While it may just be a,local inflammatory reaction.to.the bite,  superimposed bacterial infection should be  ruled out..Have a docyor look at it.

Be seen!: There are a variety of things this could be from an infection to a sterile bursitis.  The only way to really understand how to manage this, is for it to be evaluated more thoroughly.

i had a corticosteroid shot on tuesday in elbow for an injury.  the spot is sore, red, swollen with a small lump. is this normal?

Ice and time: Put some ice on it and give it a little more time. If the situation becomes worse or continues to persist then call the doctor.

had sutures removed 24 hr ago from arm surgery. one side was sore so i put poly on it. changed bandage and a little thick white pus came out followed by clear drainage. area swollen but not red. cleaned and put more poly on it.  is this normal?

Yes if no more pus: The wound should continue to heal with no pus and less redness,  to be almost closing by end of first week. Increased redness, swelling, pain and failure to close indicate infection which requires follow up with surgeon

Flu: 2 parts. You may be having mild symptoms of the flu after the shot but you need to get that arm checked. Sounds like the spot may be infected

Not likely!: The elbow is affected, but not without other joints in the lower extremity also being stricken.  The most common cause for elbow swelling is olecranon bursitis! the are many causes for this. The most\ serious is infection.  Have him see a doctor.  Gout really cannot be completely controlled by diet. Improved-yes.  Controlled, no!

Several potentials: If there has been an associated injury, a fracture could certainly cause swelling and soreness.  An infection is also a possibility, especially if there is associated redness and/or warmth.  Olecranon bursitis is a condition at the elbow which can also cause swelling and pain.  See a physician if symptoms persist.

Tennis elbow: Swelling and tenderness on the outside of the elbow is consistent with tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis).  This is commonly due to overuse.  Treating it as an injury (rest, ice, compress, elevate) should provide some relief.  If that does not help medical evaluation is necessary.
