is it possible to have eye allergies without symptoms? my eyelids are usually swollen but i dont have any itch, redness on my eyes. should i use allergy eye drops?

we introduced our 7th month old  to peanuts as suggested by our doctor. afterwards, his face, reaching down to his neck and legs had patches of redness and scale which feels very warm. what are the remedies to relieve these symptoms if it's allergy?

: It is best we dont speculate. Take him to the doctor to have that checked out. It could be an allergy. I hope he does well

Possibly: Skin irritation on the face only, especially in women is most often a contact irritant reaction. This could represent a true allergy to chemicals found in facial cleansers, make-up products, lotions or sunscreens. Step one is to stop all topicals and try a cleanser such as cetaphil restoraderm or aquaphor unscented baby wash. If irritation persists, see your doctor. A physicial exam is needed.

child has faint red rash on cheeks and chest, does not itch, only other symptom is congestion which he has has for a month (allergies) should i worry?

Should be seen.: It is difficult to diagnose a rash without seeing it. There are many viruses which cause rashes, but strep can cause a rash as you have described also. I would recommend you call your child's doctor and have he or she take a look, so that your child can be diagnosed properly and receive any necessary treatment.

i dyed my eyebrows 4 days ago and apparently im allergic to paraphenylenediamine. the symptoms are really bad. its itchy, swollen and red.i use allergy pills but it doesnt help.. what can i do?

: Use some cortisone cream that you can buy at a pharmacy anbd apply three times a day until it settles the symptoms. Continue the allergy pills as well. Watch out for getting an eye infection due to all the swelling around the eyes. Go to a doctor if you get an eye infection or if not improving so that other treatment can be given.

hi, my eyelids around my eyes often go a dark red colour, which makes me look like i haven't slept and unwell. i'm wondering if this is a typical symptom of anxiety/stress or it could be allergy related?

Depends: Allergic rhinitis is often associated with dark circles under the eyes (lower eyelids) from the congestion.   Anxiety/stress per se does not cause this problem although insomnia may.

Allergies: Yes, seasonal allergies can cause a post-nasal drip and a subsequent sore throat.

: Most non-strep sore throats are triggered by viruses (like mono) bur can be triggered by irritants (Dust/allergies/dry air/inhaling fumes/etc.). Strep is one of the only causes that would benefit from antibiotics. The other are treated with comfort measures.

In : In a situation like this the child should be evaluated by his/her pediatrician. Strep throat needs to be ruled out. To answer your question, allergies do not cause fever. More common causes of fever in children with the above symptoms are URI (upper respiratory infections, otitis media aka ear infections, and like i said strep throat.
If her symptoms have resolved or are resolving she does not need to follow up.
