Hi, my eyelids around my eyes often go a dark red colour, which makes me look like i haven't slept and unwell. i'm wondering if this is a typical symptom of anxiety/stress or it could be allergy related?

Depends: Allergic rhinitis is often associated with dark circles under the eyes (lower eyelids) from the congestion. Anxiety/stress per se does not cause this problem although insomnia may.
