my son has a stomach virus and he has cherry looking cheeks with redness on his nose. side effect maybe?

Does he have a fever: with the virus? The red cheeks and nose could be from a fever if that is the case. It also could be from vomiting itself, or from the virus that is causing his symptoms (which I assume are vomiting and diarrhea?). If the rash continues or spreads, I would call his doctor and have him examined.

i had a stomach virus that i caught from my daughter two weeks ago and then she had another two days ago. i puked once both times but this time at the very end of the puking session (i puked a lot!)it was a traceof red. is it blood? the ketchup i had?

: Sometimes if you vomit forcefully, you can see a small amount of blood. If the bleeding increases and you see more blood, you should go to the nearest ER. It could also be ketchup if that is what you ate. It can be difficult to know the difference. If the vomiting continues, call your doctor. Good luck!

Not sure: Neither stomach virus, nor head cold usually require testing, but i suspect there may be more to your story that was not relayed. Your doctor may be concerned of possible other causes for your troubles. You can also ask him what is being checked by the blood tests ordered.

i have a stomach virus and threw up forcefully a lot. at the very end of the throw up session i saw a little bit of red mixed in with throw up but not much. im paranoid i have mallory weiss syndrom. how would i know if have that if i dont vomit mor?

No: One person can give another a stomach virus once, but the receiving person is unlikely to catch it from the giving person again after only a short time. That is because the receiving person either still has the virus or currently has lots of antibodies to block the virus. More likely, this child hasn't fully recovered and may be having some off and on symptoms from the original stomach virus.

4 days = maybe safe: Contagiousness varies among different "stomach viruses" and among different people, so is not easily predictable. However, one can feel safer if the sick person wakes up on Day 5 without any symptoms the preceding 4 days. If unlucky, she can still catch a virus and come down with the illness. Food poisoning is usually less contagious, but depends on the bacteria type.

: Time to see pediatrician for an exam and to test stool, it would be unusual for a virus to keep reinfecting them, a parasite, if having pets or community acquired c diff for example would be more likely. Hand hygiene remains the most important measures for them at this point to stop transmission.
