A member asked:

My 2 y/o had stomach virus last thursday. i got it last night (mon). is it possible for me to give it back to him? his tummy is gurgling.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: One person can give another a stomach virus once, but the receiving person is unlikely to catch it from the giving person again after only a short time. That is because the receiving person either still has the virus or currently has lots of antibodies to block the virus. More likely, this child hasn't fully recovered and may be having some off and on symptoms from the original stomach virus.
