Many people overlook the positive characteristics they have, overemphasizing faults.  "problems" are explored of course, but the focus is finding realistic, effective solutions and nurturing existing capacities for growth.

The 50 min hour: The first few visits are allocated to obtaining a history.  Then problems are determined and possible solutions are suggested.  Each visit is usually 50 minutes. Each follow up appointment revisits the progress or lack thereof in accomplishing the previous sessions goals.

Ask your therapist: It’s a good idea to discuss this with your therapist.  If you feel better, are functioning better, and have resolved some issues then you are certainly progressing.  If not, your therapist can help you understand how you are progressing.

Support, lifestyle: For many mental health problems, alternatives to psychotherapy can include having good outlets and support, such as friends, family, hobbies, exercise, church, and social groups. Maintaining a healthy diet and healthy outlook are important. Depending on the problem medication can be helpful as well.

Behavioral Health: Active duty military personnel (&amp; other eligible beneficiaries) who have psychological issues may received behavioral health care as one of their benefits via a military treatment facility (MTF).  Military One Source is used by some and TRICARE remote may be used for those who do not live in vicinity of a MTF.  Care is usually transitioned to the Department of Veteran's Affairs. Answer - YES.

CBT stands for: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and it is a form of psychotherapy.  It is focused on the here and now and not analytic.  Thinking generates feelings and it is focused on changing self talk / thoughts.  Peace and good health.
