See doc: This is not description of psoriasis.This is more consistent with extensive allergic reaction such as erythema multiform which needs internal medications. Diagnosis amy need biopsy and blood tests. See doc immediately to prevent scarring or long term discoloration.

What kind of plaque?: Some follow up questions would be where in the throat?  Plaque could be tonsil stones or thrush and each has a different treatment.

Not signs: This would not be a sign of those conditions. You may be having some postnasal drop or sinus type problem. See your Physician if symptoms persist or worsen.

Unrelated issues: There is no relationship between UTI symptoms and a sore throat.Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is also not a treatment that would cure strep if that were the issue. A simple office quick test can separate the strep  from the viral causes that require no antibiotics.

No: Plaque in the arteries remain free of symptoms until significant impairment of blood flow after plaque ruptures and causes a clot or until the blockage becomes significant usually &gt;80%.

i've got a slight plaque buildup in my neck vessels, both sides. what can i do to clean them out?

See a cardiologist: A cardiologist would likely order a CT scan of your carotids (the arteries in your neck) &amp; also check whether type 2 diabetes is contributing to the plaque formation  Starting you on a statin ( a cholesterol lowering drug) would certainly be a option.

i had pacemaker lead break. a piece of the wire lodged in my left neck artery there is plaque on the piece of wire. the area hurts should i be worried

?: I'm a little confused because pacemakers do not go through the neck - they enter the heart through either the l or r subclavian veins which are in the shoulders. Anyway, if it's hurting, extraction should be considered. There are specialized centers that do this. Ohio state is one of them. There may be one closer to you in florida.

i am 39 and just found out ive plaque deposits on both caratoid arteries in my neck the cardioligist said blood flow is normal .worried?

Things to learn: If not severe and blood flow ok, no immediate worry. Plaque, atherosclerosis is how blood vessels age. Early change at this age is no big surprise. It'll continue, likely eventually in coronaries (heart) &amp; elsewhere. Your goal: try to slow it! NEVER smoke, treat blood pressure, cholesterol &amp; diabetes (if present)  aggressively, exercise, healthy diet, control weight. Hope this helps.

Is cause clear?: I presume this is based on ultrasound testing. How high is elevated sys/dis? What cause was seen? While plaque is not trauma related, other causes can be-e.g. carotid dissection or compression by hematoma, etc. If velocity elevation is severe more imaging may be warranted (CT or MRA). Hope this helps.

low ldl and crestor i'm worried. 6 months ago got put on 10mg crestor ldl lowered from 3.8mmol to 1.9mmol, now cardiologist has increased to 20mg to bring ldl lower .afraid of hemorrhage ,cancer risk from low ldl.i've minimal plaque in neck arteries?

Ur team knows u best: Deciding how low to go is a decision that only you and your team can make. There are online calculators to help with this decision. If u have carotid plaque at 40 you need to stop smoking, move to the Ornish diet and if you do not get to goal you should consider meds.
