Upper low back: Usually disc disorders of the upper lumbar spine l1l2 or l2l3 are associated with anterior and high thigh pain and groin pain.  L5s1 sometimes can have referred pain but other things including inguinal hernia or testicular problems should be considered by your physician.

Muscle strain: Depends on what you do.This could be a muscle strain if you are very athletic.  Need to be evaluated by a doc if this persist. If it comes and go,, then it is unlikely to be a nerve issue. The more active , the greater the possiblity of a muscular issue such as a groin strain.See your doc if it persists.

Yes, Pinched nerve: The description of the pain does fit a 'pinched lumbar nerve'. A lumbar spine MRI is the best test to check out the possiblility. You should get seen and you may get a prescription for Medrol (methylprednisolone) pack to help with the nerve inflammation.  Warning signs are bladder/bowel changes and/or severe weakness. Yes: It may be a luumbar nerve that is pinched.  Get an MRI of the low back.

Depends: This depends on what your imaging reveals.  Lumbar stenosis can cause back pain and pain into thighs which are worse with ambulation.  Decompression can help this with or without a fusion depending on your specific image and exam.  However you are very young for something like this to happen.  Please be seen and evaluated.

i have been to the dr recently for a potential pinched nerve/ muscle issue in my left hip, groin and into the knee area. the dr had me start gabapentin + methocarbamol, both cause me anxiety and panic attacks. any natural ideas to treat?

Alternative options: Your doctor did offer accepted treatments. Gabapentin needs to start low and build up,to,therapeutic levels over weeks e.g 100-200mg daily to 600mg 3 x daily.  NSAIDS like ibuprofen are good for your pain. Curcumin 2000mg daily can help the inflammation, stop red meat and corn products (inflammatory), and get an EMG of L leg to determine if this is a spine issue, and  benefit from different Rx.

Yes: Could be a pinched nerve in your back.  Occasionally it also could be a nerve entrapment of the genitofemoral nerve as well.  Since its not resolving i would recommend an evaluation by a specialist like a physiatrist or physical medicine ; rehabilitation doctor who has specialized training in musculoskeletal and spine injuries.
