Unlikely: Not unique to have clotting in chronic lines, and typically, little risk of any complication.  This problem does not relate to stroke at all.

Thrombus: There probably is a small clot and the risk will depend on the location. The closer it's to heart the higher the risk

A PICC placement: is simple, nearly painless and very convenient. You should be more scared of an incompletely treated infection. Oral antibiotics will not be as effective if your health care provider feels you need IV instead. There is no alternative administration other than restarting a peripheral IV every day to receive your dose. Your veins will wear out quickly with that.

Yes: It can result in a clotted vein ...however it will most likely gradually open again....HEAT Packs may help!

what test diagnose venouis thrombosis?

Ultrasound: Dvt or deep vein thrombosis is often diagnoses with an ultrasound of the affected limb.  If the clot is suspected to be in the lung then a ct scan can be used.  These scans can also be used to scan the legs as well.  If you are concerned about having a DVT then you need to be seen by your pcp for further evaluation.

It depends: For deep vein thrombosis systemic anti coagulation is best. The mainstay is Heparin followed by coumadin (warfarin). However their are several newer options. The newer options have advantages and disadvantages.  
For phlebitis/ thrombosis in a superficial vein the treatment depends on the size  location of the thrombosis/phlebitis systemic anti-coagulation is used or sometimes less aggressive treatments used.

Thrombosis: Depending on where the thrombosis is, etc, you may need treatment to prevent a more serious condition such as a pe, mi, or stroke, etc.  Best for you to discuss with your doctor what treatment you need, if any, depending on the severity and location of your thrombosis (even without symptoms). A clot: Thrombosis simply means a clot. Thrombophlebitis is a clot with inflammation.

Acutely yes: In the acute stage thrombus is associated with inflammation of the vessel wall and this can cause pain. After a few days however the pain should diminish or disappear and certainly thrombi older than 10-14 days are not likely to cause pain , particularly if they are "non occlusive"

Typically we talk about venous thrombosis in terms of deep venous thromboses, or dvts, which are clots in the "deep veins." these can be particularly dangerous because of their potential to break off and travel to the lungs, what we call a "pulmonary embolism, " which can be fatal.
