Nothing right: now, but have you discussed the use of metformin and other possible drugs with your physician? They may lower your insulin resistance and increase your chances of conception and a successful pregnancy. Diet and exercise to lose weight are always helpfull

dr told me to take myo inositol to help with pcos. i bought a bottle from iherb and its 2000mg. says to take 4 capsules with a meal. isnt that too much? should i be taking less? one am, one pm? im not sure when or how many to take?

: Since the FDA doesn't investigate supplements like myo  inisotol physicians are reluctant to ok them for concerns with contaminants that may interact with medications or cause side effects, concern about dosage and lack of proof of claimed effects.

i have pcos (lost 130lbs, resumed cycles 3 years ago)  w/regular 28-30 day cycles. i take ovulation strips and every month i have a typical lh pattern thats low,surges mid cycle and goes back down. what are the chances im not actually ovulating?

: If your cycle is regular and you have a typical LH surge mid cycle, chance of ovulation is very high.
It's possible for LH to surge and an egg to never release.
You can try ovulation strip with body basal temperature (BBT) charting for one month. If your temperature surge coincides with LH surge, likely ovulation does occur.

i have pcos and spotted two weeks ago but very light. i have heavier spotting yesterday and today. how can i tell if its a period or not?

PCOS ?: PCOS , if true, interferes with ovulation, therefore bleeding episodes relate to breakdown of uterine lining after stimulation with estrogen over time, and "spotting" is reflective of this.  If you are not attempting pregnancy at this point, ask your gyn physician about low dose oral bcp's, which control effects from high estrogen, if there are no contraindications.

Irregular periods: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &amp;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Not really: True pcos is not cured by any means, although symptoms sometimes improve (for some) with weight-loss or medication.

A number: of examinations including (most simply) ECHO (Ultrasound) examination of the ovaries will usually reveal the multicystic structure. Additionally hormone studies ( androgen levels, FSH LH) and GLUCOSE tolerance are often measured!

Symptoms can change: Pcos may result from a genetic predisposition. Other factors can affect how much a woman is affected by pcos, for example gaining weight can increase symptoms or make your cycles more irregular, and losing weight can make you more regular. Many women have less problems with pcos as they get into their 40's and the ovaries become smaller with fewer eggs remaining.
