hi , i'm 28 y.o., fem., i discovered some years ago in my right  side , just above the hip bone a rounded formation (it is noticeable when i bend over the side) which periodically may hurt when touches......it can be serious? what is it  ?

Sounds like a hernia: Better have it checked as hernias can lead to problems if not repaired.

Bone pain?: Hard to pinpoint exactly where your pain is located. Sounds like it might be the bone itself especially if tender to touch but movement of leg and trunk are unaffected. Is there a bruise? Was there trauma? Was there recent unusual activity that might have caused unrecognized trauma to area (seat belt tightening, hip support on backpack)?

Need exam: You will need to have a hands on exam to make an accurate DX.
It prob is just a muscle strain, but the only way to reassure you that it is nothing else is to have an exam.

Till then, stop the exercise that is causing the pain, and use some warm moist heat to the area for about 15 min 4 times per day.

Nerve: Perhaps you pinched a nerve in your back.
The dermatomes or skin areas are innervated by the nerves exiting your spine.There are different medical diagnoses in this area. Spinal Stenosis is another possibility ,.Infectious causes, or even tumor. See a doctor for evaluation and imaging tests.

What shot?: I assume you're referring to depo-provera shot but we're taught never to assume because it'll make an ass out of you ; me (check spelling of "assume"). Any way, you may be describing mittelschmerz (http://www.Mayoclinic.Com/health/mittelschmerz/ds00507) or ovulatory pain. Best to go see your family doc ; discuss your goals ; options re fertility ; contraception as well as your std risk.

Possible: Right sided pain can be for multiple reasons. This could be appendicitis however it could be kidney stone, colin problem,  could very well be a problem, with your hip.  Appendicitis usually associated with fever, pain with activities and worsening symptoms.  If not improving get checked within a 12 to 24 hour period.

Possibilities.: Pains in that area could be internal or external.  External sources could include skin, hip joint or surrounding bursae or musculature.  Has there been any trauma to the area?  Internal sources would be less likely with your description, but the colon and appendix are in that area.  Doesn't sound like appendicitis, though.
