You are right.: It could very well be a kidney stone. Please seek medical attention, keep yourself hydrated well, strain all urine with a paper funnel for stone pieces for analysis. Take stiff paper and tape it to make a funnel, if you can. The stone can help the doctor decide how to prevent future ones. You will need pain meds if it is kidney stones. They are very painful.

Many possibilities: See your family doctor so he or she can rule out serious problems from a kidney stone to an infection or perhaps a musculo-skeletal issue. It can even be from the lining of your lungs.  Lastly it could even be something pressing on  your urinary system.
I wouldn't wait to deal with this.

Call the surgeon: This could be normal post surgical pain, but it also could be sign of an infection or some other surgical complication. Please follow up with whoever did the procedure.

Flank pain: Any persistent pain should be evaluated .May be gallbladder ( hence rib pain), or kidneys ( classic flank pain), or sciatica , or if female from ovaries , or vaginitis ( mycoplasma/ ureoplasma in my experience) or from liver or even lungs -at times pneumonia can present just as rib pain. F/u/ w/ MD within 24 hours.

A personal trainer can give you a regimen that increase tone without causing muscle imbalance.
