Tendinitis: I think you should step out of the house, you may be using your game console or cell phone a lot, this is a tendinitis from excess texting or gaming.

i had a sudden stinging in my top right index finger joint. now it's bruised and hurts. i did not hit it on anything, any ideas?

Get a check up: You are having tendinitis (trigger finger) or a gouty arthritis.  Please get a thorough exam by your doctor to get the correct diagnosis and discuss the treatment options.  Until then, you can try otc Motrin to alleviate the pain.  Good luck !

i have a sharp, burning pain on the top side of my index finger joint. it only hurts when i am lifting or working. i work in industrial maintenance?

Mysterious knuckle: This is most likely a bruised skin nerve and altho annoying, it  is just a pain. It will eventually go away but it may take months.

Arthritis:  At age 20 You're young to have osteoarthritis. In this setting I would suggest you have your physician send you to a rheumatologist. A rheumatologist is a specialist in medical Musculoskeletal problems and would better help define what is going on with you.

does having a grandma who got parkinsons in old age raise my risk, or is risk only raised from mom or dad?neither have it.i am 38 amd my index finger joint has twiched randomly for like 4 mos off and on.is my risk great or does this not seem like it?

Parkinsons: Majority cases of Parkinson disease are isolated/sporadic. 20-25% patients may have atleast one first degree relative with PD. So your risk may not be very high but you should still see your doctor as the symptoms are occurring repetitively.

Joint pain: The patch if new and persisting, you should see a doc. Sometimes joint pains of hands could be from too much texting. Pain is not a symptom of vitamin d def.

Doctors can evaluate: Such symptoms may be due to a problem in the arm itself and/or in the nerves coming out of the spine and going to the arm. A primary care doctor, or a physical medicine doctor (Physiatrist, PM&amp;R doctor), can evaluate. A neurologist may be consulted, if needed. They can check the nerves, such as the nerves that run on the underside of the wrist (carpal tunnel area).

Hmmm: Pigmentation can vary from person to person. Should there be a rash or mole contributing to the darkness a thorough exam by a physician would be recommended. The use of Cortisone can lighten some blemishes but it would be best to be examined first. Good luck

That is the goal: No surgical procedure can guarantee results. Generally speaking, all musculoskeletal procedures have a goal of either improving function and/or decreasing pain. If the surgery goes as planned, if you avoid any post-op complications, and if the rehab goes as planned, you should experience an improvement in function.
