Retrouterine fluid ?: With a history of "multiple cysts" in the ovaries, fluid detection on U/S is most likely due to spontaneous rupture of one or more cysts, and is not dependent on the day of your cycle.  Without fever, pelvic pain or other signs of infection/inflammation, the fluid seen on ultrasound is benign and of little significance.

what can small amount of free fluid behind uterus seen on two different u/s mean? they have been done on day 10 of cycle. they see multiple cysts on each ovary. is it normal to see fluid behind uterus on this day of cycle? shouldn't it be gone?

Fluid: It takes a while for fluid from a likely ruptured cyst to absorb. It does not sound concerning especially if they think it is coming from a cyst.

Anatomical variation: The ovarian pedicle is a stalk like structure, some shorter, some longer, and ovaries are not normally fixed to pelvic wall.

Not correct: Partial hysterectomy  means part of uterus was not removed , usually cervix was  left behind if that is the case need follow up for cervical cancer ( pap smear) , if ovaries are not removed need observation for ovarian cancer ( sonograms ).

i had an operation in 2006 to remove a large cyst on my ovaries. now i have a new small one behind my uterus and not same place. can i remove it?

It depends...: What was the size and the nature of the first cyst? Benign or not?
Uterus usually can not have cysts, so please tell me more. Is this a new cyst in your ovary and behind the uterus or it's in the uterus?
What is exactly the size of it and if you have any symptom because of that?

if both ovaries, tubes and uterus removed 7yrs ago but now have adnexal masses does that indicate that tissue must have been left behind? are there any circumstances where the tissue could be reabsorbed? if so what/how? thanks?

: If "adnexal masses" are now detected by ultrasound, contact the physician who performed the surgery ("hysterectomy and removal of tubes and ovaries") and ask for a copy of the pathology report to make certain both ovaries were removed.  If the adnexal masses are complex, ovarian tissue may be the cause, and your GYN physician may need to perform a biopsy.

Uterus/ovaries.: The normal size of the uterus Mean uterus size was 8.66cm x 4.96cm x 4.06cm overall, 7.28cm x 4.28cm x 3.24cm for nulliparous women . The normal ovarian  size is 3.5cm x 2.5cm x 1.5cm. After menopause the ovaries generally measure 2cm x 1.5cm x 1cm or less. It is important to know your age. The ovaries appear normal but your uterus seem slightly enlarged. Kindly discuss all with your doctor.
