i have a baby who was admitted and discharged from hospital. she had a puffy feet where they put the iv. now her entire leg is puffy looking different from the other one?

Cool compress: The fluid under the skin may track and spread. Apply a cool compress to the area and if the baby is in pain, has a fever or discoloration of the leg, please see your Pediatrician right away.
Watch for signs of infection, pus, redness and swelling. Continue to feed the baby as usual, and schedule a visit with your pediatrician for post hospital care.

my husband is diabetic and has numb toes on one foot and today has bulging veins on that shin and numbness and puffiness.  will this wait till monday to see doctor or is this an er situation?

Have it looked at: If it is only on one foot then there is a chance he could have a blood clot in that leg and should be looked at today. Swelling in one foot and numbness that came on all of a sudden shouldnt wait. Good luck.

Varies: There are a number of possibilities.  Some patients have a retrocalcaneal bursa in that area that can become enlarged, could be a lipoma and many other potential considerations.  Don’t hesitate to be seen for an accurate diagnosis

i have one ankle that's puffy and itchy. seems there is a slight rash. i elevated and took benadryl, (diphenhydramine) in case it was from a bite. what could it be?

Could be several: things. Allergic reaction, like a bite or even a food or medication could cause this. More serious concern would be infection of tissue in area, called cellulitis, or thrombophlebitis (inflammation in blood vessels). Could try a cool compress for swelling and itching, but if worsens, I'd recommend seeing a doc.

Maybe: Only way to find out if it is broken is with an x-ray.  If it is broken and non-displaced the fracture will heal itself.  If just swelling that will resolve itself also.  But if broken and displaced you will have two choices leave it alone and live with a crooked nose or have it bone set for a straighter nose.

: Per your description these symptom are consistent with an overuse injury or probation  flattening the arch and injuring the posterior tendon. Did you change anything recently  your shoes, the speed, the terrain. Anything that is different. NSAIDs  and ice will help. Cause is most important.

Check pulses: Some variation can be normal, but have a physician check pulses at the groin, back of the knee and ankle. If they are even, ask yourself about trauma's to either leg- broken bones? Feels better when you have a reason and even better if its true!  blood flow (doppler studies) can look at the deeper blood flow and compare legs. Acute blood clots are usually painful.
