It adds risks: particularly of bleeding.  the combination of Aspirin and alcohol can lead to gastrointestinal bleeding.  If you are talking about a baby Aspirin a day for cardiac protection and having one beer, the risks are very low.  However, if you are taking larger doses for arthritis and drink more than 1-2 beers, you do have risks of heartburn, reflux and even bleeding.

Underlying problem?: Alcohol intake has its own risks. However, one aspirin with three beers is unlikely to cause a medical catastrophe UNLESS the stomach lining is damaged. A stomach lining that is compromised by chronic alcohol use, ulcers, gastritis, excessive use of pain killers aka NSAIDS (to name a few) may worsen with aspirin use. Enteric coated aspirin is usually the safer aspirin to use.

Not a good idea: The combination of alcohol and aspiriin (or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug like motrin, naproxyn etc) is potentially harmful and can inflame the stomach, to the point of causing bleeding and ulcers. Some people are more sensitive than others.

All will help : For better  will not cause excessive bleeding , except  'couple of beers' ( what time interval every hr , every day or every month ? ) . Moderate consumption of alcohol may have health benefits , don't  have to consume for so called this 'health benefit ' , if you can avoid , avoid it totally.

Not enough info: Use http://www.mdcalc.com/cha2ds2-vasc-score-for-atrial-fibrillation-stroke-risk/ to calculate your risk of stroke. Then use http://www.mdcalc.com/has-bled-score-for-major-bleeding-risk/ to calculate risk of bleeding. Discuss risk w/your GP. If CHA2DS2-VASc is greater than HAS-BLED score, then take stronger anticoagulant eg Warfarin or NOAC. If reverse, then aspirin. But be sure to discuss w/GP

good afternoon doctors. i have a dentist question. when i get a gum scaling every three to four months, i often get bleeding from the gums. i am on plavix and 81mg aspirin. is it normal for gums to need after scaling, if one is on plavix and aspirin!

Yes: Yes, it is normal for gums to bleed after scaling and even more common when one is taking Plavix and aspirin. 
But you can also ask your dentist the next time you have this procedure.

good evening doctors. i am on plavix & 81mg aspirin. i seem to be extremely prone to purple bruises--three on my left arm now, one rather large one on the underside of my arm. how do i know if the bruises are or are not because of the plavix& aspirin?

: If you had not problem before and you started these meds recently and have them now this would be most likely cause.  Otherwise you need some bloodwork and discuss with your Drs. Do not stop ASA/Plavix without talking to them. They know you we do not.
