It is unlikely that an non medical person will not the risks, benefits and alternatives of they performance of a needle aspiration. In the event that a potential risk occurs will a non medical person know what to do. If the answer is no--then, no!

Yes: Yes, a hydrocoele can be treated by draining the fluid with a needle or by a minor surgical procedure. In order to drain a hydrocele, a needle is inserted into the hydrocoele and than the fluid is removed. This is called aspiration. A surgeon should be consulted regarding proper treatment. : By UPTODATE: "Most hydroceles do not require intervention. Treatment is only indicated in patients who are symptomatic with pain or a pressure sensation or when the scrotal skin integrity is compromised from chronic irritation. For asymptomatic patients with hydroceles, there is no need for routine follow-up". Not able to feel your testicle is not an indication for treatment. Good luck.

i had my hydrocele drained is it normal for the fluid to coke back in less then 24 hrs also the urologist didn't take all the fluid out is that normal?

: It is uncommon the fluid reaccumulates that fast.

: I assume you didn't stir up bleeding by riding a bicycle or other exercises.  I think your urologist will have to check the operative site to determine where exactly  the bleeding is coming from and the cause.

Some times: during aspiration of hydrocele some times small amount blood may enter , speak to your doctor , most likely will return . surgery is more appropriate  ,besides recurrence chance of getting infection is the risk by  aspiration treatment.

i've been having a bit of trouble with what i believe to be a recurring hydrocele, ie. my right testicle area routinely filling up with water, becoming larger and heavier, then draining just as quickly. could this be the result of an infection?

Hydrocele: is a structural situation, not infection.  Please see a urologist for a definitive diagnosis.  Your primary care doc can refer you.  If you are correct, surgery can correct it.  Peace and good health.

RU sure  epididymis?: Not unusual for scrotum 2B tender 2 days after drain removal. Wonder why you think epididymis is tender ; larger. Tunica vaginalis, which is wall of hydrocele is attached to epididymis and bound 2B tender for a while after surgery/drain removal. Best to discuss with your urologist.

i been doing self aspiration of my hydrocel for 2 years now. atlease once a month. what is the best size needle to use? the needle im using is very small with a 2oz tube and i normally drain 6ozs each time but very slowly each time.?

: I wouldn't do this at all. With each attempt there is a chance you will introduce infection into the site which might start slow &amp; eventually move into your abdomen and  be life threatening. Don't expect a licensed professional to be an enabler to such  a practice.
