hello dr. i am taking doxycycline now day 7 and my face is broke out into an itchy rash. i too 10 ml of childrens byenadryl because that is all i have?

Benadryl (diphenhydramine): 10 ml of oral solution is 25 mg, you can double that if no improvement, i.e. 50 mg/dose, if reaction is more severe go to ER or call 911. Stop the doxycycline, and call your doctor/prescriber, best wishes

Rashes: Most allergic rashes are itchy however, not all itchy rashes are allergic. A good example is scabies that is cause by an arthroppod (insect) that tunnels beneath the skin. Ask your primary care provider to evaluate the rash first, seek a dermatologists opinion if the pcp can not determine the cause.

A common rash in : the skin folds of the inner thigh is jock itch.This can be treated with over the counter anti-fungal medicine.

See dermatologist: If this happens when you are in the countryside , you are likely allergic to something outdoors or even to the sun. 
I would suggest that you consult a dermatologist to find out the cause. Certainly poison oak/poison ivy is a factor to be considered especially since its resin on contaminated articles may remain potent for months.

i have an itchy rash on my chest, it keeps spreading to shoulders and breast. i usually use fluticasone propionate 0.005% ointment for rashes but it doesn't help in this case. also, i moved from eu to the us a year ago. please help.

Need to be seen: start with your doctor, who may refer you to a dermatologist, it could very well be a fungal infection. Kindly don't use a strong steroid, prescription strength, medication as fluticasone  ointment  without doctor's supervision, best wishes

Itching: Generalized itching in the absence of a rash may be due to excessive dryness of the skin. Other possible causes are thyroid disorders, some blood dyscrasias, diabetes, certain malignancies. If it's dry skin, apply alpha keri lotion after a shower or bath while the skin is still wet as this restores necessary skin oils. Otherwise see your physician for evaluation and appropriate testing

Hard to say...: Without more information, it's really difficult to say for certain.  Usually things like shingles or herpes have fluid filled bumps.  Mild eczema doesn't have to be itchy, it can just tingle or feel irritated.  If you're not having fever, it's not painful, and you're feeling well otherwise, its okay to wait a few days before seeing the doctor, but you should get it checked if it doesn't go away.
