Fix the problem: To fix the nasality of your voice would not be effective unless the problem causing it has been fixed. To know more about your problem, you would want to tell us what other symptoms you're having - nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, drainage out of your nose or postnasal drip, etc.

Yes: The symptoms of nasal allergies include sneezing, itching, runny nose, nasal congestion and often itchy, watery eyes.  The nasal congestion can lead to a nasal tone to the voice.  Anything that causes nasal congestion and/or obstruction could lead to a nasal voice.

See Allergist: Might be worthwhile seeing an Allergist for further workup and evaluation. Skin testing or blood testing for sensitivity to both indoor/outdoor allergens is indicated if you are having congestion, running, sneezing, etc. Once sensitivities are determined then a better treatment regimen can be prescribed.

i have a very nasal voice. i also have allergies,i don't think it's from stuffy nose because sometimes i don't have a stuffy nose but still am nasal.

Check with doctor: I have found that many people have got used to their nasal stuffiness even when it is present.  Your perception of not having stuffy nose may well be what you have got used to.  See your doctor when you think you don't have any nasal problem and see what he finds. I'd bet that you do always have moderate degree of nasal stuffiness.

Nasal voice: If you sound like your nose is always stuffed up, surgery might improve your voice, but there are some medications which might help, too.  I would go to see an ENT to evaluate your nasal airway to see what is the problem (allergies, deviated septum, large adenoid, etc.).

Nasal voice: You could have a narrowing of your nasal passages, possibly due to an anatomical variant or a polyp obstructing the nasal passage.  Most commonly seasonal allergies are the cause.  I recommend over the counter non drowsy cetirizine or pseudoephedrine, if that is the cause.

Seek a referral : With the speech pathologist via your primary care physician to get objective measurements of your voice production. If not severe and they would recommend and do  speech therapy measures.If severe enough it could be concluded that see an ear nose and throat doctor would need to see you to consider a corrective measure. This : This is a common question among patients with nasal obstruction. Often nasal obstruction is the result of structural (bone, cartilage), soft tissue, or a combined (structural and soft tissue) narrowing of the nasal airway. Ultimately it is important for you to have an internal and external nasal exam to determine the exact cause of your symptoms as these may need to be treated surgically or with medications â€“ depending on the exact cause of decreased airflow.  Additionally, evaluation of the soft palate, previous adenoidectomy procedure, and a cleft palate history are important in a general analysis as well.

hiteal hernia,reflux grade a an this year,im having nasal drip,voice changes my coughing!do i need surgery?3 dr say yes 3 no?im confused!pls help

Hiatal hernia: I would certainly not suggest surgery. First of all make sure you are sleeping at a 45 degree angle . You may also respond well to a PPI such as Nexium or Prilosec. Have you had your H. Pylori checked ?This may help

there might be the slightest post nasal drip. voice starting to become slightly hoarse now (4 - 5 days after noticing sore throat). distinct coppery "taste" in throat when coughing (cough not frequent).

URI: This upper respiratory tract infection is consistent with a viral infection and should run its course in several days.  Hoarseness could be from irritating cough or in infection moving lower down the respiratory tract.  Your pharmacist can recommend a soothing DM type of cough syrup. See your physician if symptoms don't gradually improve or worsen.
