Many reasons: The most common causes would be constipation with distention of your bowels, gas with distention of your bowels (bacterial overgrowth, ileus, partial small bowel obstruction), and accumulation of fluid with distention of your abdomen (ascites).  Recommend evaluation by your doctor.

hi i had a gastric sleevedone 3 yrs ago but just lately my stomach has swollen like i'm 9 mths pregnant, and when i eat something i get stomach pain. i have put on a stone in the last year but try think that's because i am taking prescribed steroids?

: There are several possible causes for a swollen belly.
The most common cause is obesity(due to over eating). Steroids used at high doses can be the cause in your case as these drugs increase your appetite. So you need to visit your physician to check you, make sure that your Liver is healthy(check liver functions its a blood test) and reduce the steroids unless you have  a serious medical conditio

Pregnant?: The symptoms you mention could be caused by a number of things, but the fainting is enough to be evaluated by your doctor.

i have ibs & chronic constipation . my stomach has been swollen for several weeks . if u have bowel obstuction will your stomach b real large & hard?

IBS & Constipation : Very painful none the less. If the pain is extenuating could be consider as an emergency. However, you have a hx of ibs. So, on your next appt with your doctor ask about other medication for ibs. Drink plenty of fluids, and augment your fiber intake.  Some ssri has been consider helpful. But now days are great medication for your conditions.

i have a hiatal hernia. lately my stomach has been severely swollen, lots of gas and pain. is this a result of the hernia?

Possibly...: Depends what you mean by swollen  is your stomach actually distended or does it just "feel" bloated.  Small hiatal hernias are usually without symptoms. Hiatal hernias can be confused with or result in paraesophageal hernias which may result in the stomach becoming strangled and cause bloating, pain etc.  But other things can cause those symptoms as well .  Best to see a surgeon and get evaluated.

Yes: Most commonly this may represent something simple such as food poisoning. It is hard to tell by the short description how urgent it would be to see your doctor, but i typically recommend this when the question comes up from the patient.

You would benefit from an evaluation by a gastroenterologist and some testing for food allergies.  See a health care professional for this evaluation as soon as possible.

See Doctor asap: Don't know how long these symptoms are going on, but together they are very worrisome for serious diseases including liver disease, heart issues  Your age is not listed, so hard to give definitive advice. Mostly you need to see Physician asap for full evaluation  lab &amp; then treatment based on the findings. Do you have Hypertension? any chronic liver disease? any neurological issue?

: Could be any of several issues from Acid Reflux, to Peptic Ulcer, Gall Bladder issues... While Google can be helpful it does not have the Hands-On of the Doctor. Good idea to see the PCP for a good medical evaluation and appropriate treatment. The sooner, the better.

Many reasons: I could be simply increased gas. However problems such as Gastric Outlet obstruction, due to an ulcer or small bowel obstruction must be also considered. Do you have history of peptic ulcers? Do you have Nausea and vomiting.Please see a gastroenterologist SOON if thye answer is yes to either questions.
