my nine year old daughter has been complaining of headaches every other day, along with the headache nausea too. what can it be?

Depends: This could be a tension headache or a migraine type headache. However, it is hard to give you specifics without all the details.  In general, most headaches respond to tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen though. However, if her headaches worsen or associated with a fever, then she should be seen by a doctor.

You : You did the right thing by giving her a pain reliever. Consider trying children's advil (ibuprofen) in the future. I have found it to be much more effective for pain relief. Hopefully your daughter is better by now. However, if this is a recurring issue she should definitely see the pediatrician. Also, make sure she has her vision checked. One of the most common causes of headache in kids is vision problems, allergies/sinus issues are also high on the list.

The : The good news is that only a very small percent of chest pain in children is due to a cardiac cause even though it's the first thing you think of with an adult and chest pain.  The most common causes in kids are:
- musculoskeletal: usually from muscle strain of heavy lifting
- costochondritits: pain from inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs and breastbone
- precordial catch syndrome: a sharp, stabbing pain in the chest for a few seconds caused by a pinched nerve
- gastroesophageal reflux disease: heart burn  
- asthma: chest pain typically associated with exercise
- anxiety: chest pain related to stress or worrying

the signs that chest pain in a child could be something more serious are:
- chest pain with exercise
- chest pain associated with an irregular heart beat or very fast heart beat
- chest pain with dizziness or fainting
- chest pain with difficulty breathing.

If your child has any of the concerning symptoms above, call your child's doctor or go to the emergency room.  Otherwise, just call your child's doctor during office hours for an appointment and evaluation of hr chest pain.  Good luck!

Normal varient: The stool color is provided by the bile from the liver that is added to fecal debris.It starts out a deep green & slowly changes thru greens to yellows to browns as the germs in the intestines metabolize the bile.Green generally means the stool in question moved through faster or was subject to less change by gut germs.The cramping reflects rapid transit.A probiotic yogurt may settle her system.

Maybe: The label is vague. Yes the sinuses are a structure in the head that can trigger a headache. It can also be one of many other issues from a simple HA to early meningitis. hello my six year old daughter has been complaining of a headache since coming from school. she has a cold i gave her that medicine. what do i do now?

Rest and fluid: Symptomatic treatment is foremost - cool washcloth on head, close eyes, rest.  If the cold medicine you gave her does not have any Ibuprofen or acetomenophen in the active ingredients, you could also give her a dose of one of these for the headache. Turn off the lights and just cuddle her, let her know momy is there for her.  Ensure lots of fluids and monitor for other symptoms.

nine year old daughter has had a fever ranging from 99.5 to 104.7 and a headache for the past 6 days.  test neg for strep.  no other symptoms.  help!?

Further evaluation: A fever lasting this long definately needs further evaluation. This could be anything from the flu or urinary tract infection to something more serious. She needs to be evaluated properly by a doctor.
