ER/Ped/UC: Give the baby 1 tsp of acetaminophen per 20 pounds of body weight and take the baby to an ER, pediatrician or urgent care center. A fever of 105 in that young a child needs to be evaluated.

Another antibiotic: If your child started taking amoxicillin 4 days ago and is still having on and off fevers, she may have another infection somewhere else. For girls her age the most common are urine infections. Many urine infections are resistant to amoxicillin. If the fever has not resolved after three days of amoxicillin I recommend seeing a care provider again for a reevaluation.

Teething Possibly: Hi Julie,  I also have a one year old.  When she is teething she gets a fever sometimes and doesn't want to eat.  Try giving him some tylenol (acetaminophen) for children and look to see if his gums are red and sore.  Place a small wet washcloth in the freezer and he may suck on it to help with his gums.  They also make little ice containers he can suck on.  If his fever gets worse see your family doctor.

As long as baby can take fluids well enough to wet diapers every 6 hours, no additional meds are required.If baby seems too tired or uncomfortable to drink, fever meds like Acetaminophen are helpful.

He should be fine!: Mosquito borne disease usually has an incubation period a bit longer than you mentioned.  He is also doing well overall without painful and/or swollen joints; sore muscles/aching tendons; extensive skin rashes; tiredness;headaches and swollen lymph nodes. Put 1% Hydrocortisone cream on the bug bites or apply cool compresses.  Oral antihistamine like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 2.5ml could be offerred at night.

But younger children bear more involved evaluation since their immune systems aren't mature & they haven't received complete set of vaccinations. However, even healthy appearing children w/102.2 f = 39 c need further evaluation. Btw these temperatures are rectal.
