Teething Possibly: Hi Julie, I also have a one year old. When she is teething she gets a fever sometimes and doesn't want to eat. Try giving him some tylenol (acetaminophen) for children and look to see if his gums are red and sore. Place a small wet washcloth in the freezer and he may suck on it to help with his gums. They also make little ice containers he can suck on. If his fever gets worse see your family doctor.

It is very common: This fussiness is normal behavior for toddlers. Your child grows more slowly in the second year, and his appetite will decrease appropriately. She is fascinated with learning to walk than with eating. If concerned, consult your pediatrician.
