i have been diagnosed with membered disease  and hearing loss in both ears could i qualify for disability?

Meniere's: Possibly, if you are unable to walk from the vertigo or you have severe hearing loss.  You have my sympathy. I trust you are under the care of a good otolaryngologist/ good luck.

just got over the flu. now both ears are hurting, i have fulness, muffled hearing, popping when i swallow or attempt to clear my ears. what can i do?

See your doctor: These symptoms can only be adequately diagnosed only after a thorough evaluation by your doctor.  This may include labs and other satudies.  Once all of the information is in, your doctor can let you know what's going on, and what to do to help you.

got an ear infection and was prescribed neomycin-polymyxin b sulfates and hydrocortisone otic solution ear drops, i put some in one drop to both ears every three hours and now my left ear is clogged throbbing and muffled hearing, should i go back?

: Your drops are used to treat infection/inflammation of the ear canal only. Your clogged,throbbing, hearing impairment could be from swelling of ?the canal, movement or expansion of ear wax or inflammation of the ear drum, which requires oral antibiotics. I recommend having your ear reexamined to see what the current situation is &amp; get appropriate treatment. You may want to see an ENT specialist

i pop my ears . ear tubes  open & i feel some thing going down my thorat but little hearing loss that happened both ears.

The Ear Tubes: connect inside of ear( behind the eardrum) to the throat. This system helps to equalize the pressure on both sides of the eardrum. If hearing loss suspected, go get checked.

i have been told i have otosclerosis in both ears with 15% hearing loss i have constant pain in both ears would hearing aids help?

Accepted Answer

Probably not: Your hearing loss is too minimal to make hearing aids necessary, and they would not help your pain.  Ask your ENT about other treatments to address your pain.

at times my right ear seems to (i hope these are the right words) "close up." valsalva technique seems to work, but then right ear sometimes "closes up" again. what causes this and can it be treated? how? mild hearing loss both ears very recent test?

Ear: Time to see your General Practitioner. It may be as simple as a build-up of wax. Your GP will know if you need to see a specialist ENT.

what do i do when i have had serious ear pain, pressure, plus hearing loss in both ears (due to getting soap in ears vua washing hair accident) for almost 3 days? i dont have a hair dryer, and my parent and everyone else won't take me?

: If you go to school, talk to the school nurse, as you need to be examined by an ENT doctor. You could go to the emergency department of a nearby hospital. You could call the health department of your city or county for additional assistance.

hi doctors. i have documented mild to moderate hearing loss in both ears but at times i still notice that i can sometimes hear better or worse out of one ear than out of the other ear--what might this be? could it be an acoustic neuroma or a tumor?

: Large number of patients your age, develop hearing loss due to life-long noise exposure and degenerative change.  An acoustic neuroma is typically unilateral and is accompanied by additional neurological problems.  The symptoms do NOT vary from side to side.
If the concern for a tumor is preoccupying your thoughts, discuss your issue with an otolaryngologist.

i have mild hearing loss both ears.dr says no hearing aids needed. but...my right ear still feels full sometimes..valsalva helps. another dr.saw nasopharyngeal tumor 7/8 yrs ago. could full feeling be because of tumor still being around? is this odd?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor, preferably an ENT doctor.
