i went to the immediate care yesterday for heart palpitations did complete blood workup troponin,ekg dimer, cbc , chest x-ray, all test were normal.  noticed i have a mild cough for a couple of days no fever or could this be early covad?

Early COVID: Cannot be ruled out without testing. Incubation is long and many patients experience mild to no symptoms. It is the possible exposure to a documented positive subject that makes it more plausible and testing should be done in these circumstances.

Yes definitely.: A widened right paratracheal stripe region (right superior mediastinum) on a frontal view chest xray can be of no significance or serious.

In obese people there can be extra fat in the mediastinum causing this xray finding and is of no significance. Enlarged blood vessels known as aneurysms, enlarged lymph nodes from benign or malignant causes, and tumors can also cause this finding.  Ct is best.

Cardiac evaluation : Please watch for signs such as swelling, shortness of breath and follow up with your cardiologist. The chest pain may indicate a cardiac problem such as ischemia.

Not necessarily: Have you had a echo stress test or adenosine stress test? CT of heart? CT scan of chest/lungs??? Are you currently in the hands of a cardiologist? Although your symptoms "may" be related to MVP, heart and lung disease must be fully investigated.

Chest pain: There are many causes of chest pain, the heart is  one, intestinal gas and thoracic musculoskeletal pains are very common, anxiety and panic attacks likewise are frequent causes. You should always ask the doctors who see you what they think is the problem you came for and what to do about it.

Both test could: Help in diagnosis and both can be normal in any heart condition. It will be ok to use both test to start in diagnosis work up. If negative and diagnosis still suspected stress test and/or echocardiogram. The doctor should decide depending on the suspicion and diagnosis.

: From your description, I suspect these fleeting sharp pains are emanating from the rib cage &amp; not the lungs,heart or esophagus. An irritable rib cage nerve or intercostal muscle can cause such symptoms. I think your normal test results are reassuring that you're not dealing with anything serious. If you still have concerns you could consult a pulmonologist.
