Dysfunctional Rib: Could be referred pain from some organ, but unlikely.Key is the pain with deep breath and in the back around the scapula.Ribs should rise & fall with inhaling/exhaling, but when they lock down so they can't rise with inhalation, pain-sharp or severe aching-results.Vertebra may also be involved.Get a good osteopathic exam. Can usually be fixed with gentle osteopathic manipulation right in office.
