: Atrophic gastritis may be for longer and probably more chronic inflammation that has resulted in the changes of the gastric mucosa causing atrophy, that means it is less thick than expected. The mild chronic gastritis suggest something that is being going on for a while but is mild with not much structural changes to the mucosa apart from the inflammation.

Likely, never: some of it obviously depends on your symptoms and reasons you had the EGD to begin with.  With chronic gastritis and assuming you had some abd pain/discomfort to begin with, they probably checked you for H.pylori and eradicated it if +ve.  no particular follow-up is indicated for gastritis.

Unlikely: would eradicate h pylori if you have it, try to cut down or avoid NSAIDs - but if you have no symptoms from this, unlikely to become 'serious'.  it's just mild inflammation of the lining of your stomach.  PPI can help if you do have symptoms.

Gastritis : Usually 2 months or so of medication such as omeprazol or other proton pump inhibitor will give cure... pain should resolve much quicker.

i have mild chronic gastritis going on for a couple of months. why does my stomach feel so ecky just not right when i wake up then wares off and good rest of day with little to no pain?

: You may want to discuss this with your doctor next appointment so you could be tested for H. pylorii just in case it is the cause. The other thing may be to brush or rinse mouth first thing in the morning and make sure to brush before going to bed. Mouth bacteria may be swallowed and may be causing the irritation and it is important to take bedtime snack before the brush.

: It depends on where exactly you are feeling this to figure out what the possible etiologies are. For example, are you feeling this in your chest? Abdomen? Lower, in the pelvis region? There would be many possibilities but depending on the exact location, these possibilities can be decreased. Your GI doctor should continue the work-up to determine the diagnosis so it can be treated. Good luck!

i have been diagnosed with mild chronic gastritis via endoscopic biopsy. is it possible for this to take weeks to resolve? still having symptoms a month after an acute flare up and indigestion led to this diagnosis?

: I assume you do not have H. pylori with biopsy but you do not tell us what medication(s) you have been taking. You need treatment for a total of 2 months for chronic gastritis with exacerbation. Treatment for H.pylori related gastritis is different.
