Depends: Metoprolol is a type of medication called a beta-blocker; these medications block adrenaline so part of what they do is slow your heart rate.  If your hr is abnormally low, your dose might need to be adjusted.  Now, if the reason you are on the medication was an abnormal hr to begin with and it is still present you might need an increase of the med.  Consult with your doctor.

i have been on metoprolol, 12.5 mg/cut in half daily now for approx. 7 yrs. it was originally prescribed to me for fast resting ht. rate..85-90 bpm along with pre-hypertension. i exercise on a regular basis now and have been for the past couple of years.

If the: Heart rate is too high,  the cardiac motion creates an artifact that distorts anatomic detail and can make the scan essentially useless.  The higher the heart rate, the worse it is.  Better to try to get it right another day than to perform a scan that has a good chance  of not providing any answers.

Metop Succinate: Metoprolol Succinate would provider longer, and more stable beta blocking effects. Assure you are getting metoprolol succinate, and not tartrate variety (the tartrate variety is shorter acting and requires twice per day dosing).

i have newly diagnosed afib. is there any relation to anxiousness or nervousness? heart rate will be fine, but i'll randomly feel nervous or have a scared feeling. metoprolol seemed to help me feel calm at first, but not now. it does help heart rate.

No, but discuss it: Always get full info on a new Rx - know the pros and cons, what to expect and do if there's a problem - in detail! Call to get this ASAP. The drug is for hi blood pressure and that can be very serious if untreated - so take efforts to understand all of this and advice on diet/exercise/life style/etc too. A full treatment program can make your life much better!

The typical testing for patients with tinnitus would include a hearing (audiogram) along with a test of the ear drum (tympanogram).  In some situations, providers may also recommend further testing including imaging studies like an MRI
