If the: Heart rate is too high, the cardiac motion creates an artifact that distorts anatomic detail and can make the scan essentially useless. The higher the heart rate, the worse it is. Better to try to get it right another day than to perform a scan that has a good chance of not providing any answers.

Cta: There are only a few seconds where a good look at coronary arteries can be obtained and a fast heart rate definitely affects the quality of the pictures. A radiologist is better qualified to tell you what the optimal heart rates for the studies are and how long a period of quality pictures is needed.
