Minor mystery: I'm going to assume it's not enlarging or otherwise suspicious, and that you have fewer than 15 total. Some folks say these can begin with bug bites; the truth is nobody knows.  They're probably true tumors but since they're almost never a problem, nobody's looked hard to find the mutations. Keep it or have it excised; it's your call. Thanks for asking.

Not a scar: Mederma is proposed for scar improvement.  A dermatofibroma is a benign tumor which originates in the deeper layer of the skin, the dermis and extends upwards.  Nothing short of surgery will remove a dermatofibroma.

Cysts are saclike structure in the skin, which usually contains fluid or keratin material.  Cherry angiomas are red blood vessels growths that we can get as we age.  Dermatofibroma are brown firm scar tissue-like growths.  If you are unsure about a skin spot, you should see a dermatologist.
