Functional jaw orthopedics does NOT work in non-growing adults.  Please see a qualified Orthodontic Specialist, and the Oral Surgeon on his/her cranio-facial team, for advice as to treatment to manage your malocclusion.  Remember, everyone's different.

Nope: That condition requires surgical intervention by an oral surgeon.  My daughter had this condition and had the surgery when she was 16 after extensive orthodontic work.  Not only did it correct the condition, but it gave her great confidence.  She didn't even need any pain meds other than Motrin.

See and consult a few if necessary. Get some recommendations. Discuss your situation, have them discuss the procedure and fees. You and their office staff can call your insurance company to discuss your coverage.

Likely not: 10 weeks allows reasonable bone healing with plates involved. Clearly be smart and keep off hard foods. You may be feeling muscle attachments pulling. When you activate them with forceful chewing, they will contract and pull against their attachment points/areas. This is likely what you were feeling. You may get some inflammation and swelling. See your Surgeon if needed. Good Luck.

See below : The condition is also known as sialolithiasis. Initial treatment is usually medical consisting of hydration, warm compresses, gland massage, and antibiotics if infection is suspected. Depending on the size and location of the stone, surgical options include endoscopy and lithotripsy for smaller stones (&lt;7 mm) and transoral removal for larger stones and gland removal for more difficult stones.

Stable: You must be in a stable position before this surgery, or there will not be any reference position for positioning and no stability. Also, after healing the displaced disks might not reposition properly and the surgery will have been for naught. Get stable first. Often this requires splint therapy (24/7) for 6-8 months or as long as it takes to recapture and reposition the disks. 2nd opinion.
