Sure: Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve which connects the eye to the brain.  It is usually caused by high pressure in the eye.  Macular degeneration is a disease of the part of the retina mostly responsible for straight-on vision which is usually age-related.  Treatments exist for both conditions, although glaucoma is generally easier to treat effectively.

Depends: Family history (genetics) is a risk factor for both. We can not gauge your risk genetically yet. You should see your eye doctor on a regular basis (yearly) to surveil against these and other eye diseases.

Separate from all this, narrow angle glaucoma is treated with laser (peripheral iridotomy) and eye drops that help lower eye pressure (intraocular pressure).

Number of factors: Macular degeneration (amd) is primarily an age-related disease (age 50+), but there are genetic and environmental factors that contribute to age of onset and severity. Risk factors for cardiovascular disease (stroke, heart attack) are also risk factors for amd. Smoking is the top modifiable risk factor. Of course, there is a lot we still don't understand about amd.
