Having said that,  Faint IgG lambda band is more likely to be MGUS, however, other issues need to be examined, such as, what is the level of background un-involved immunoglobulins, hemoglobin level, serum calcium and creatinine levels and if need be x-ray examination of bones. Serum free light chain assay is useless for the differentiation.
