Hard to say!: How long has this been going on?  You may be causing irritation from shaving, a harsh soap, or scented soap, cream, detergent or deodorant. This can cause lymph nodes to swell  Use unscented products, no fabric softener.  Shave only after using a shaving cream or lotion (unscented) to soften, and don't use a dull blade. If the problem does not go away with these measures, see a doc to find out why

No: But any suspicious lymph node enlargement lasting more than a month should be checked by a doctor.  Infection including viral ones is often associated with small lymph node enlargement.

Any infection in arm: Could cause the lymph nodes to swell in the armpit , also infection in armpit itself could do that.

Many things: Could be an infected gland or inflamm. But if it is increasing then u should have it looked at at possible a biopsy is needed.

Not usually: Enlarged lymph nodes represent some sort of inflammation, often infectious in nature, that will resolve once the underlying problem resolves.  Apply steroids to the skin overlying the node usually has limited to no effect.  There are other types of "lumps" in the armpit that will respond to steroids though, but these diagnosis are best made through an inperson evaluation.

is a firm lymph node in the armpit always worrisome if it hasnt grown and stayed the same size of 1-1.1 cm along with pea sized nodes in the neck that havent grown any over 9 months? what can be the cause these? doctor says they look ok.

Lymph node: Most enlarged lymph nodes are caused by infection or inflammation.  Some enlarged lymph nodes may be due to cancer metastasis or lymphoma.  If lymph nodes have not grown over the last 9 months, they most likely are benign in nature.  However, I encourage you to follow your doctor for physical exam.

Cancer hiding spot: The lymph nodes in the axilla/armpit is usually one of the favorite locations of breast cancer to go to.

Lymph node: It is unlikely that lactose intolerance would be responsible for breast symptoms or an enlarged lymph node.  Lactose intolerance is usually a GI problem.  The node you are describing should be evaluated and examined by your doctor.
