See Endodontist : We cannot diagnose these types of situations over the internet. More is required than merely an x-ray to determine the cause of your symptoms. The swollen lymph node/neck pain could be totally independent of the tooth pain but still require treatment. See an Endodontist to evaluate tooth (root fracture?/ CBCT scan (3D x-ray)? extract tooth? If no dental infection,also consult with physician.

Lymph nodes: React to infection and other issues, as they are the receptacles of drainage from an adjacent problem.  Your answer is : likely the same nodes.  The cervical (neck)  nodes under the lower jaw are responsible for accepting exudates from dental infections/problems and also ear issues. If you have sore / symptomatic nodes see your pcp and/or dentist for eval to figure out the source!

persistent enlarged submental lymph node since over 6 months- 31 y/o male. no constitutional symptoms. ultrasound in the last six months show normal lymph node. no infection/dental issues/fever/change in size shape consistency. what could it be?

: It may just be a variation on a normal size. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor. Wish you good health!

i have inflammation at my c5-c6 with a herniated disc on the left which is the side the mri noted this lymph node. i had a dental work up today all normal. i am going to see the ent next week.   i have a normal cbc?

Depends: As a Dentist who does perform phlebotomy in my practice, we usually do not do CBC type blood work, unless there is something specific we are looking for based on the patient's health, and if we are doing that blood work, we will send it out to be done.  If your PC did the blood work, they usually send that out, same as I would, but more often as that is part of regular exams in many cases.

: They can. Generally the pus from an abscess stays within the capsule surrounding the infection. However, any puss cells or germs that leak into the serum surrounding the tissue would move to the lymph glands for processing. The lymph glands then swell/enlarge while they work harder.

had a ct done and this came up borderline prominent lymph nodes in the right neck with transverse measurements of 1.2 cm at level ib and 1.1 cm at level iia. they also said there is swelling of my adenoid and i need some dental work done?

: What is your question? Enlarged lymph nodes are indication of infection. Discussnyour lab findings with your ordering physician. And see a Dentist before those infections get worse.

Salivary glands: See oral surgeon or oral medicine specialist for evaluation. Possible salivary glands infection, lymph nodes infection or jaw bone infection.

1-2 weeks depending : If you were premedicated with antibiotics it may take less than a week. If not, and depending on the surgical skill of the doctor, it could take 1-2 weeks. If it lasts longer than that it must be checked by your dentist.

insides of both cheeks are puffy and raw along the lines where my upper and lower teeth meet, and my lymph nodes under my jaw hurt. what could it be?

Teeth grinding?: Some people grind teeth at night. You may be biting inside of cheek. Local injury can cause lymph nodes to enlarge. You might be damaging salivary duct inside cheek, leading to enlargement of the submandibular salivary gland. See a doctor. A dentist, oral surgeon or ENT would be the experts in that area.

can teeth germ (germ on teeth) cause swollen lymph nodes under the jaw?

Accepted Answer

If infected.: Just the presence of bacteria in the mouth will not do anything and is normal.  But an infected tooth, like a tooth abscess often causes swollen lymph glands under the jaw.   It's usually painful and gets you to see a dentist right away.  If there is no tooth pain the reason is something else.
