my husband 34y is taking medicine for hypertension comes with water bills, noticed his pulse between 60-70 & he is loosing weight. is there smt wrong?

Hypertension: check his potassium level with water pill part of blood pressure med. pulse is fine. wt loss mite be water loss or diet &amp; exercise. Dr mite stop the water pill (HCTZ) in his BP med.

adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) and exercising.losing a lot of weight 32 pounds in 5 months. feel great though. adderal does not effect my bp or pulse rate. ?

Minimal.: Generally while adderal can increase blood pressure or pulse slightly, this not clinically significant. Weight loss is variable from one individual to another, often associated with appetite decrease and not usually an issue. It is good you are exercising and feeling well, please confer with the prescribing physician to monitor your weight and mood changes.

No, but explainable: Hr is influenced by many factors (level of sympathetic nerve (adrenalin) activation, state of body physiologic stress, thyroid levels, hydration status,  and cardiopulmonary conditioning.). Is it regular or irregular?  Irreg abnl heart rhythms (like atrial fibrillation which produces an irregularly irregular rhythm can occur.  An ecg/exam can define your rhythm and a doc eval shd provide a cause.

Spell out VSD: To American doctors, VSD means ventricular septal defect. This heart defect has a wide spectrum of severity. If the VSD significantly effects heart function, you will be short of breath and retain water (gain weight).  A less common result of VSD is endocarditis (infection inside the heart).  This could cause weight loss and high pulse.  You would also have a fever.

Exercise...: Aerobic exercise, the kind where you get short of breath and sweaty for 45 minutes to an hour at a time will improve your cardiovascular conditioning and lower your heart rate.  Try to do this every other day, and avoid the "simple" carbohydrates, stick to more complex carbs.

Pulse rate of 130: Pulse rate of 130 in sitting to standing position is considered tachycardia and it is abnormal.If it is one time event it can be due to many causes includind anxiety or caffeine consumption.But if it is persistent then it needs to be evaluated and blood test and ekg needs to be done, to see the rhythm.It may be benign tachy or due to overactive thyroid or some other cause.If itis so see ur doctor.

Exercise: The very simple answer is that exercise training will decrease your resting heart rate by increasing something called contractility (the amount of blood squeezed with each beat).  Medications can also lower the resting heart rate, but this is not advisable unless you need them.
