Hypertension: check his potassium level with water pill part of blood pressure med. pulse is fine. wt loss mite be water loss or diet & exercise. Dr mite stop the water pill (HCTZ) in his BP med.

Probably not: He is on a beta blocker and they help slow the heart rate. Water pills help you lose water weight especially if he retains fluids or has edema. Call his doctor and read the package insert for more information.
