i had a wisdom tooth out 1 mth ago, since then i've had lock jaw, 1 infection after another and now an abscess that's popped, best way to keep clean?

Antibiotics + Treat : It's not a matter of keeping anything clean. It's a matter of being on the correct antibiotic with the proper dosage\duration as well as definitive treatment to deal with the cause of the infection. From your description, I am not sure if this is all from one issue or multiple dental problems. Your treating dentist should be able to discuss the problem(s) as well as the resolution. If not, 2nd dds.

is it normal to get lock jaw after a tooth extraction?

Not lock jaw: Lock jaw is a lay term for tetanus.  You do not get tetanus from a tooth extraction.  You can get infection of the tooth root or have a piece of infected retained root that can cause swelling of the surrounding soft tissues making it difficult to fully open your mouth.  This should not normally occur after a tooth extraction.  See your dentist.

ive dealt w/ lock jaw and my jaw trying to pop out of place when i talk or eat and i clench my teeth in sleep along with impacted tooth how is braces cosmetic would it not fix that i clench from over bite (dont mean to) i deal w/ jaw issues alltime?

: Jaw joint issues require professional care. Start w your family Dentist. Referral to specialist Oral Surgeon, specialist Oral Pathologist, or Oro-facial Pain specialist. You mention an overbite. Important that you also see a specialist Orthodontist. A nice cosmetic result is a side effect of Orthodontically correcting form and function.

It is possible: If the wisdom teeth become infected, the surrounding muscles can spasm causing limited opening of the jaw.   See your dentist to have the teeth evaluated.

Difficult to access: A lock jaw, i assume you meant limited opening can make removal of wisdom teeth challenging.   The wider a patient can open the better the access to the wisdom teeth is.  It depends on how wide the jaw can open.

Trifecta: Antiinflammatories (ibuprofen), Heat (moist pack), and Exercises. See your Oral Surgeon for advice on the specifics, esp. the exercises. You may take the ibuprofen 4x day @ 400 mg, and apply moist heat to the side of the face from the area in front of the ear top to bottom . This will help improve blood flow, reduce inflammation and relieve the muscle spasms and strains. Soft diet. Make Appt.

See a TMJ specialist: After imaging and physical examination have excluded structural damage, management depends upon the particular type of TMJ disorder. Many posts-dental treatment TMJ patients frequently have accompanying symptoms of TMD and should be referred for appropriate management to a TMJ specialist.

Common: Pretty common with a surgical wisdom tooth and at this time you are going though normal issues with hard lumps etc but I am concerned about the lockjaw and the hard lump at the sometime.  I would go back for an evaluation via the dentist or oral surgeon that did the work.  No worries

Watch : You may take some pain medication like Tylenol (acetaminophen) or Motrin/Advil  to help cope with discomfort. Sleeping upright may help with the throbbing in jaw. It will not pop but could spread. Your biggest concern is not allow the swelling to extend under your jaw which could restrict your breathing. Get to ER if you develop breathing problems. Call your dentist for antibiotics.

went to the er cause my neck is slightly swaollen by jaw they said nothing was wrong gave me an atibotic is this normal with a tooth abcess?.

Normal for ER: I have a great respect for er physicians.  They will be the first to agree they don't like handling dental problems.  The er concern is to get you out of the er.  Usually with a very temporary relief not solution.

Pain meds and antibiotics are good until the antibiotic effect is gone, the pain returns and you run out of pain meds.  You get to do it all over again.  Find a dentist for dental pain.
