Normal for ER: I have a great respect for er physicians. They will be the first to agree they don't like handling dental problems. The er concern is to get you out of the er. Usually with a very temporary relief not solution. Pain meds and antibiotics are good until the antibiotic effect is gone, the pain returns and you run out of pain meds. You get to do it all over again. Find a dentist for dental pain.

See a dentist: The er is not the place to receive dental care. If they gave you antibiotics, then they suspected an infection.. Swelling by your jaw? Best place to start is with an examination at a local dentist. They will check your teeth and determine if the swelling was caused by a tooth or your gums.
