: Before worrying about these or any other causes, make sure you in fact have HL; other conditions can appear similar. See a doctor, preferably an expert in oral health such as your dentist or an ENT specialist, then take it from there.

Huge difference!: Lichen planus is a submucosal inflammatory lesion usually found on the cheeks.  Sometimes ulcers can develop, but this represents little more than an irritating rash.  Oral hairy leukoplakia is an opportunistic infection by epstein barr virus.  This can be linked to steroid use, hiv, or any other condition causing a reduced immune response.

Hairy Leukoplakia: Is caused by the epstein barr virus and is seen in people with hiv. It is a variant of leukoplakia. Lp has no cure and is poorly understood. It may resolve on its own and the cause is unknown.

the top of my gums below my bottom row of teeth, only in the front, are white. i had leukoplakia on my tongue that went away. do i have cancer or a disease?

No: Leukoplakia is your epithelial response from a chronic irritation of a tobacco product (chewing or smoking.  Leukoplakia is a white patch that cannot be rubbed off with a gauze.  It is not cancerous, however, be careful it it is transform into erythroplakia which is a red patch.  This indicated perusion of blood vessel before a growth of lesion occur.  Stop smoking or chewing tobacco.

White patch tongue: The term leukoplakia just means a "white patch" being small does not necessarily correlate or signify being benign (nor large = cancerous). Unless it has completely vanished, in my opinion it should be biopsied. See an oral surgeon for a consultation and second opinion.

is there any recorded cases of someone being ebv positive igg, herpes pos, hair leukoplakia, oral thrust, white tongue and body and muscles aches and pain and still test negative for hiv after say 6 months or 1 year. is this even possible?

Not HIV: This is not only possible:  it is certain: you don&#x27;t have HIV. The HIV blood tests are among the most accurate tests that exist for any medical condition. Your results prove you don&#x27;t have it. The other tests  commonly are positive in absence of HIV and so are your symptoms. See a doctor if they continue or if you remain concerned. But you can stop worrying about HIV; try not to worry about it.

why would a person's tongue be yellow? could it be leukoplakia?

No.: Leukoplakia literally translates as "white plaque", so yellow tongue does not fit the definition. More commonly, yellowing of the tongue is due to either staining from food dyes or other colorants, or accumulation of debris from elongation of the many tiny bumps on the dorsum of the tongue (the filiform papillae). Management involves avoidance of food dyes and brushing or scraping of the tongue.

could this be leukoplakia? i've noticed a small white patch on the left side of my tongue. it doesn't hurt at all, but it kind of has me worried.

I : I would recommend first exam by your general dentist. Usually if the white lesion stays for more than a week e general dentist will refer you to an oral surgeon or oral medicine specialist for a biopsy. You might be biting your tongue and the dentist might smooth the sharp cusps to check if that helps.In any case see you dentist asap first.
