Possible but need to: also take into account your past history of swollen glands, thyroid nodules, and left kidney cyst that should be followed up and measured by US. Have an integrative physician work with you to balance these health issues out. Have your iodine levels checked too, especially if you have a tendency to form cysts, fibroids, fibrocystic breasts. Burning pain is not normal and can be an irritated nerve.

Trigger point: This sounds like a trigger point - in other words, a localized area of soft tissue inflammation.  Try ice/heat, direct massage, and nsaids (i.e. Ibuprofen, aleve).  A steroid injection directly into the area is an option as well.

Likely no, but..: What you report are largely seen incidental findings but a few loose ends here should be addressed to make sure there is nothing more insidious ie.. how complex exactly is that left renal cyst?  also, an adrenal adenoma cannot be definitely diagnosis on a contrast enhanced scan unless a very specific protocol was followed. Atypical v simple: Simple cyst is a sac that contains clear liquid. It is usually benign. Atypical means non-typical. The contents here are not clear. It may contain old blood, fatty tissues, or solid tissue. We worry about possibility of solid tissue because it may be cancerous; hence, the follow up ultrasound which is designed to detect growth in order to allow for prompt intervention if needed.

Kidney cyst: In a young person with your lab studies i would assume this is either a benign simple cyst or an abscess.  See a urologist for a proper workup.

2cm angiomyolipoma and 2 small cysts left kidney, scan again in 6 months to measure growth, will they need treatment?

Accepted Answer

No: These are benign entities.  Angiomyolipomas are only treated if they are very large, due to propensity to spontaneously bleed.  Small ones, like yours, are of little or no concern.
