Kidney cysts: 58 F nots; Left kidney cysts,1-4cm & 1-1.5 cm. Mid pole.Should I see specialist and can they be cancerous? ANS; i would discuss with the Dr. who ordered the tests as they know you best. Not likely Cancer but chance is not zero.

Usually not: Most of us adults have kidney cysts and they are usually benign. There are certain characteristics on the scan which can make us more suspicious for cancer and require further testing. Radiologists are very good at picking those up. Usually for benign cysts, we just recheck them in 3-12 months to make sure they are not growing.
