No: An enlarged and hard testicle suggests the presence of a mass that may be testicular cancer.  This should be evaluated urgently by your physician who will likely order a scrotal ultrasound after examining you.

See a Dr.: Mumps causes painful swelling of the salivary glands and testicles. One or both may be involved, but the swelling resolves in both areas after 10-14 days. If one testicle is large and firm a year later, there may be a different problem. See a Dr (urologist) for a thorough exam and to determine the cause and treatment. Causes may include infections, hernias, tumors or varicocele/hydrocele.

: Most such lumps are benign cysts such as a spermatocele which sits on top of the epididymus rather than arises in the testicle itself. Nevertheless, for peace of mind, I recommend consulting a urologist to evaluate the lump and advise you.

my testicles are larger than normal and fill my palm. no pain but at a point on the upper right lobe there is a hard lump. pl advice?

No rush, but ask: I'm assuming you don't have bilateral hydroceles. Testicular size is quite variable in size, and even vary from man to man over the course of years even if not taking medications. If they've always been quite large, you may have a weak dose of fragile x. A truly hard round lump in the epididymus is usually a benign adenomatous tumor. Your physician can sort this out next visit.

since i can remember i've had small white dots on my genitals and larger white bumps/lumps on my testicles. they don't hurt unless i press hard on them (nothing will come out if i press on it). i'm 30 years of age. how can i get rid of this?

Genital bumps: It is likely that the small white bumps on the penis are what is know as Fordyce spots.  They are benign and are not dangerous.
The bumps on the scrotum may be sebaceous cysts, which are common. They are not dangerous unless they become infected.
If you are worried about infection or want to be certain about the diagnosis, see a urologist

the plumbing attached to one of my testicles is swollen, not extreme but definitely larger. no pain or heat, not hard or fibrous, not sexually active. when gently squeezed i feel discomfort that seems like it's traveling up into my stomach?

: What you describe sounds like you have mild varicocele. Wearing an athletic supporter brief is recommended. You can see an urologist if the condition gets worse and it bothers you or it affects the fertility.

: Hard area on or in testicle needs to evaluated by scrotal/testicular ultrasound and interpreted by urologist. Hard area or lump is cancer until proven otherwise. Fortunately, prognosis for testicuklar cancer is excellent if treated early.

?hydrocele or testis: Larger side might have a hydrocele, tumor or cyst. Smaller testicle might have been previously  corrected undescended testis, munps in past or presence of a large varicocele. Testes can grow at different rates during puberty ; smaller one may or may not catch up in time ; both testes can otherwise be normal. Thus although not normal maybe ok. Scrotal ultrasound would clarify.

is it normal for 1 testicle to be a bit harder than the other?

Accepted Answer

Not normal: Both testicles should have a similar consistency. Needs to checked by a urologist, especially if one testicle became harder as a new finding, or harder testis is larger than the other. Testicular calcifications (microlithiasis), tumor, lymphoma, leukemia are all remote possibilities. Scrotal ultrasound will provide the answer.
