what is the difference between renal kidney mesenteric ultrasound and renal kidney ultrasound?

: Mesenteric ultrasound is to assess blood vessels and blood flow to the kidneys. Kidney ultrasound is just of the kidneys.

sometimes i have hemolysis blood in urine and sometimes its non hemolysis.  whats the difference and what could this mean?  i dont have a uti and am scheduled for a cystoscopy and ultrasound of kidney but im curious what could cause both types

Hemolysis ?'s: Blood cells ( "red cells") contain hemoglobin and register as "positive" in urinalysis specimens (under the microscope).  Hemolysis is the rupture of the cells , which releases the hemoglobin within, and is detected as "blood in the urine", which is not a normal finding, and suggests the need to find the source of the bleeding.

doctor says i either have kidney stones or a ruptured ovarian cyst, and ultrasound isn't for another 2 weeks. is there a way to tell the difference?

Another doctor: The stone in the ureter is not going to be adequately diagnosed by a pelvic ultrasound. If you're continuing to have significant abdominal and pelvic pain I would see a physician willing to do the definitive study which would be a CT scan

It is most: likely OK and related to technical variations between the scans, but talk to your doc to make sure.

: Why were you getting your kidneys measured? This may just be a discrepancy between radiology reads. Ultrasound isn’t perfect for visualizing organs. I don’t know what you’re referring to regarding the fluid. Where is this located? Why are you even getting imaging? More context is required, so talk with the doc who ordered the image.

Medical renal diseas: Ultrasound exam of kidneys can show dilatation of collecting system or hydronephrosis or medical renal disease involving parenchyma usually with increased echogenicity, brighter than normal. Sounds like possibly some medical problem as opposed to obstructive problem.Medical renal disease correlated with blood tests of function of kidneys.

Difficult: to get specific without additional details.  In general, uniformly hyperechoic well defined renal masses usually turn out to be benign fat-containing tumors called angiomyolipomas(AML).  However, sometimes malignant lesions can have a similar appearance. Generally CT and/or MRI would be the next step, AMLs have a very typical appearance on those modalities.  Talk to your doc about next steps.

right kidney ultrasound shows 25x21 mm size  angiomyolipoma. is it considered large? what should be done about it. currently there are no symptoms.

Angiolipoma: 22 mm is 2 cm which is moderate size. angiolipomas are benign  so would just monitor especially since there are not symptoms and surgery is not without risk .

can an ultrasound tells you the accurate size of kidney stone?

: Yes, if the stone can be directly visualized, the stone size can be measured accurately under a good hand. However, ultrasound technique varies a lot among the ultrasound technicians so stone size by CT scan is more accurate because it's not dependent on the technically skill.
