Not necessarily.: Sometimes pain in the vicinity of the naval can be early appendicitis which can then migrate to the left lower quadrant of the abdomen. If you have significant pain please seek prompt medical attention.

It's possible.: giant liver hemangiomas can be palpable in the abdomen. There have been reports of hemangiomas large enough to be felt as low as the pelvis, in fact.  In one study, hemangiomas greater than 10 cm in size cause symptoms of fullness or pain in 90% of the patients. Follow up with your gastroenterologist or your surgeon. Good luck.

any ideas? i have a lot of gas...could it be liver?

It could just be: Intestinal distention from the gas. Liver pain is higher in the right upper quadrant. Go see your dr if it worsens

Liver: Your liver is normally in the upper right portion of your abdomen.  Pain in the right upper area can be caused by many issues including liver, gallbladder, and other problems.  Please consult with a physician if you have significant pain in the abdomen, regardless of location.

good doctors, i have pressure in the middle and left side of my abdomen right below the chest above the belly button after small meals feels like pressure/discomfort or like a rock or food sitting not moving could it the liver ? thank you all?

: It is not your liver which is on the right side. It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see a doctor. If you are constipated, take a fiber laxative like Metamucil and drink enough water so your urine is mostly colorless.

my left side has been hurting and when i press on it it hurts. the pain generates either from the left side of liver, sleen, stomach, colon area. some times it even hurts near my belly button and even right under my sternum. what is wrong?

Need info: How long has this been going on? Any fever or other symptoms? Does it hurt when you press on the lower right side of the belly? Review with doctor: You may be having irritable bowel syndrome, or some form of inflammatory bowel disease. If you have had chronic indigestion, reflux, or nausea mention this as well to your doctor.  Gall bladder stones may also be one of your problems.  If this is the case avoid high fatty foods and follow up with your doctor. If you are diabetic or have pancreatic pain avoid alcohol and review with your doctor.

Various causes: Discomfort under the right rib cage could be due to muscle strain, gall stones, gall bladder inflammation, liver inflammation, pancreatic inflammation, or problems involving the base of the right lung. Sometimes sludge in the gallbladder is the problem and is not able to be seen on ultrasound. For repeated attacks, consult a general surgeon for evaluation.

Not normal.: Your pain could be side effect of your bcp/ gastritis, or could be from ur liver problem. Call or follow up with ur dr asap. Taking antacids may help in the meantime. Take care!
