Swollen face: There can be various causes for swollen face. This will include skin infection, boils in the area, parotid duct blockade or submandibular gland duct block, injuries, haw fracture , temporomandibular joint inflammation , tooth abscess etc. One must take medical advice and see their MD/ GP for an assessment.

Eye lid edema...: At your mothers age if this is something new it could represent a manifestation  of fluid retention.   Would suggest seeing the family doctor who can decide if ophthalmological intervention is necessary

Possible stye: I would try first using hot compresses for 15 to 20 minutes several times to see if will go down on its own. If the bump persists, gets larger, or more painful you may need some prescription medication to help it go down.

i noticed a small dot mark on my chest. in 10 days it has grown to @ an inch,is raised, hard to the touch, very red and red around it. its extremely painful. it doesnt have a head. using warm compresses and heating pad. what else can i do?

: Although you do not see the head or an entry mark, insect bite seems consistent with your description but a boil can't be ruled out. You have done the right thing, apply warm compress several times a day, take tylenol or advil for pain if needed. If the redness extends further and you have fever or chill, you should go to urgent care for the correct diagnosis because antibiotic may be required.

Mgt: There are several products which can be used. I would suggest a major brand line cream for eczema. Use the product three times daily, Avoid immersion of face in water for more than brief time periods. An hypoallergenic facial wash and no make up products may also help
If these measures do not provide improvement, then please see your PCP.
If the rash is generalized, please see your Dermatologist.

my daughter has had a terrible cold, diagnosed with strep and now has swollen face on one side. could the swelling be mumps?

It would be more: likely to be related to the strep as mumps is from a different organism. Is swelling is significant or impacting her airway - please let her doctor know. Take care.
