What sticky food?: Food in general catches on braces. The best method is to use an interproximal brush under and around the wires/brackets to gently pull the debris off...You should be using this daily to replace flossing while on braces.
Careful with candy/gums/gummies and other "sticky" foods...The sugar can cause damage.

Oral Surgeon: See an Oral Surgeon for an evaluation of your wisdom teeth.  If you prefer, you can check with your General Dentist first who can recommend someone.  Always best to get a referral from someone you trust.

No one best: Yellow gold crown cannot break, requires least tooth reduction, but is unesthetic which is not an issue for most people if not seen. Other choices are numerous kinds of ceramic or ceramic on metal crowns. Every material has pros and cons. Trust your own dentist to discuss options and make recommendations.

Crown type: Every dentist has preferred types of crowns they feel best working with.  I love working with pressed e-max.  They are very strong and gentle to opposing teeth.  In my hands they fit and look amazing, however another dentist may not feel as comfortable and prefer gold or a pfm (porcelain fused to metal). They type of crown that is used also depends on the condition of the tooth and tissue.

is all dental floss the same or are some better at removing the days food particles to prevent plaque/tartar build up?

Personal preference: There are different types of floss... waxed or unwaxed, thin or tape, even really thick floss for periodontal spaces. Someone's mouth can have different needs between different teeth, so you may need more than one type to get the job done correctly. Experiment a bit and have your periodontist or their hygienist guide you.

is there a way to prevent dental bone loss when a child loses a permanent tooth prematurely and cannot get an implant because of young age?

Bone Graft: Bone grafting into the extraction site at the time of the extraction has been shown to help preserve the ridge for later implant placement. Discuss this with the dentist or surgeon who will be extracting the tooth.

when i visit the dentist 90% of the time i get a cold sore outbreak (i have been having cold sores since i was 5 years old). my last outbreak was 4 days after dental cleaning. i have fillings to be done and dreading it. how do i prevent outbreak?

:  You have a history of cold sores due to stress and anxiety of going to the dentist. You need to relax, take a small 5mg of valium before treatment. You can request an antiviral drug such as FAMVIR or VALTREX. Check with your doctor.

i did a barium swallow exam on the 11th because i felt food getting stuck in my throat. i now find myself hungrier than usual and i did recent blood work that showed my protein, potassium were lower than usual. does b block ability to get nutrition?

: The barium used for the study left your body completely within a week. Any increase in food consumption is likely natural after you recovered from whatever symptoms started the study.

It depends: Why do you hate your crown? What is it about the crown that needs to be "fixed"? If it is because it is the wrong color, shape, size, or doesn't fit well, you may have to replace it because once in your mouth those things are tougn or impossible to change.  If it is because the crown doesn't mesh with your bite well, then you just may need it adjusted. Go see a dentist and discuss it with him.
