Crown type: Every dentist has preferred types of crowns they feel best working with. I love working with pressed e-max. They are very strong and gentle to opposing teeth. In my hands they fit and look amazing, however another dentist may not feel as comfortable and prefer gold or a pfm (porcelain fused to metal). They type of crown that is used also depends on the condition of the tooth and tissue.

Hard to say: The dentist who will be treating you will evaluate your occlusion, remaining tooth structure, and esthetics. Taking these factors into consideration, the materials to be used will be determined.

Depends: Depends on what you want, what your expectations are, and what you feel like paying. There are different metal crowns, porcelain or ceramic fused to metal crowns, ceramic crowns, full porcelain crowns, and zirconia crowns. You really should speak to your dentist... Do you have metal allergies, do you have severe bruxism, do you have high esthetic concerns, is the crown going to be very deep... E.

All depends: Depend on your bite and your occlusion and also your dentist level of education. I personally prefer a porcelain crown such zorcania or e max.

Many factors : There are many different materials used for crowns and the choice of materials depends on your teeth, your bite and your need for esthetics. Talk to your dentist about this before your begin any procedure since there is a difference in procedures for the tooth and in the lab and the cost will vary with each material.
