good morning doctors. if i am ok with paying out of pocket, is it ever ok to have regular or deep gum scalings more often than every 3 months, or would this be too much? could this greater frequency damage my gums further?

: Your dentist along with your dental hygienist would be best to weigh in based on current situation. Generally not needed providing good  cleaning at home on a regular basis. The presence of medical comorbidities will have to be considered as well.

i have an appt to get the pfizer vaccine but i am nervous. i carry an epipen. i am allergic to  bees, wasp, cipro and phenergan. am i high risk for a reaction to the vaccine? does one vaccine cause more reactions than others ?

: No COVID-19 vaccine is any more likely than others to cause allergic reactions. Even with your allergic history, the actual chance of reaction to the vaccine is low. Still, you are right to be cautious and have the Epipen with you. Also you should be vaccinated in a medical facility, not a pharmacy or other site without immediate medical care available.

Why ?: I expect the heart rate to rise by ~40 BPM for that elevation in temperature. Increased HR is a normal response that increases circulation of natural healing factors.Flu has its own pattern of fever that antibiotics would do nothing for. You can add anti-fever meds but they may also do little.With flu you focus on keeping fluids  down &amp; comfort. Go in if you are spooked, but I doubt they do much
